Waits

PERFORMANC FOR CAMERA LUKE PELL FOR MANUEL VASON

Waiting for something to surface.  Remains unseen.  Seeped beneath, beyond. In a longing for stillness, the desire to surrender.

The pause came, whilst waiting for your last breath.  It came before clambering on all fours back.  Lingered amongst the bruises, between torn tissue and worn throat. In this waiting space, something passing, nudges at the edge of experience been but, yet to come.

A performance, poem, installation made as part of post-graduate research into trauma and performance at Queen Mary, University of London in 2010
