Since the beginning of these Covid-complicated months I’ve been spending some time with long-term companions in practice seeking to advocate for ways in which we might return to care-full touch; sit, stay and move with what happens in the wakes of these months; acknowledge vulnerability, ignorance, privilege, complicity, confusion, overwhelm and wisdoms with humility, to show up - in ways that work for all the ways of being in and with the world - to care harder.
Some of this time has led to writing, to speaking, to workshops, events, moving and not. Traces of the first few can be found below:
Some words on loss and care and choreography first made at the Federation for Scottish Dance and Theatre’s Dance Forum with The Workroom, now live on Understory - different chats from dance artists
In Other Words with Metal
Through prose, poetry, drawing and photography In Other Words is a collection of urgent reflections, created by artists exploring their hopes and fears at a time of global crisis. It is a clarion call for change from a group rich in wisdom, shared experience, and what it means to be marginalised in the UK in 2020.
